Guest appearance on Soup Radio

I was recently asked to be a guest on Penumbra Carter's Soup Radio segment for the month of June:

Penumbra Carter is joined by Nebulosus Severine at the The Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) Art Sandbox in Second Life. They tour the space and discuss work by Robin Moore, Ozzy Wozniak, znort Gant and Alizarin Goldflake. The LEA Art Sandbox is supported by Linden Lab as an area where artists can rez objects, experiment, and learn how to build. The LEA exists to promote understanding and support of virtual art.

Relay For Life - Hopes & Wishes - Open til April 28

I was asked by artist Penumbra Carter to contribute some work to the Relay For Life Team 52's group build, Hopes & Wishes.

My contribution was a Bunnyken-themed refrigerator. The original one I made was a bit gruesome, so I toned it down for this project.

This is an installation built by Penumbra Carter in tribute to the theme of Team 52,"Hopes and Wishes". Included within this installation are contributions from the following artists:

Maya Paris contributed the Tutti Frutti Trees which are also found in the auction area.

Misprint Thursday contributed the Butterfly Kiss flowers which are also found in the auction area.

Nebulosus Severine contributed the Bunnyken Meat-Locker.

Artists' meeting, Push sim, July 24, 2010

A number of Second Life artists met today to discuss the future of collaborative projects in SL (& the metaverse at large), similar to the Brooklyn Is Watching concept.

A new plot of land has been donated for our use, and the meeting today was how to best proceed and continue.

It will be another space in which any artist can rez his or her work for a week at a time without restrictions on content.

The aim is, in part, to restart the practice of doing regular video podcasts & critiques of the work. The space will hopefully allow for performance and multimedia as well.

This meeting has hopefully kick-started a movement that will gain more serious recognition in the "real-life" art world.

Arthole Season 3 kicks off Saturday, July 18th, 2009 at 2 pm SLT (PST) and welcomes Penumbra Carter as our new guest artist!

My newest painting in upcoming NYC show

I was asked recently by artist Stephen Beveridge (known as Sowa Mai in Second Life) to participate in a crossover real life/Second Life art event. A few other artists from SL are also participating, Dekka Raymaker (Arthole's current guest artist) and Penumbra Carter among them.

The theme of the show, as told to me by Stephen, is "mining your childhood for art exploration." I had no trouble coming up with an idea for a painting; in fact, I had a particular set of childhood memories in mind that I have been meaning to channel into some art for a long time now. I'm not going to go into exactly what those memories are in this post, but I will share the image of the painting itself and the title.

Media: Acrylic and thread on canvas.

I am relatively close to NYC, but rather than deliver this painting myself, I shipped it out and it arrived there Tuesday. I haven't decided yet whether I am going to attend the opening reception, but I have time to think about it. At the very least, I will be attending the Second Life event.
